Grandpa Nelson

Today is Grandpa Nelson's 7th anniversary. Please take a moment to share your favorite memory(s) of him. Mine will always be the fact that he told me I was beautiful everytime he saw me.

I will always remember the moment when I found out that Grandpa died. I will also always remember HOW I found out. Ask Sandy for that one...

But these are happy memories. I remember how Grandpa would say after he booped (let a smell) "Where'd that mouse go?!" I thought it was the funniest thing ever. I also remember when I would come back shopping with Grandma and I would show him my clothes I got and he would act like everything was soooo cute even though to him they weren't anything special. I also remember Grandpa's long long long prayers and how all I could think about during those prayers was how I wanted to dig into breakfast. I remember Grandpa never saying anything negative about anyone. Ever. And how he made me feel like the favorite granddaughter. I miss you Grandpa and I love you. I know you are watching over us.

I also had a really hard time with Grandpa's death and am still trying to find closure.
Anyways, my favorite memory besides skipping rocks at the lake was when he would shave with the electric razor. I would feel his rough face before and sit there mesmerized by the razor and then feel how smooth it was after and then I would try it myself. Ever since I have started shaving, I mainly use an electric razor because of him. Thanks for the memories Grandpa! I visited the grave on Sunday and could feel him watching me. I love and miss you alot!!

Grandpa was always the "dream" father-in-law. "Anything you need?" was a trademark question from him. He loved to cuddle the grandkids in the rocking chair as he sang, "Oh my darling, oh my darling, oh my darling, Clementime! You are lost and gone forever, precious darling, Clementime!" Here's to the "perfect" father-in-law...

I always remember Grandpa making sure we came by the house if we were even close to American Fork. I still remember the phone number- 756-2869. At least I hope that right or I memorized the neighbors! I miss Grandpa saying how beautiful I was ever time he saw me even during the ugly years. He always made me feel extra special. Love you Grandpa!! Cat
